Clear Quartz crystals have an incredibly long history of use in all sorts of fields. It’s ability to focus, amplify, store and transform energy is used throughout the technology world. They are one of the most famous crystals and have been significant to cultures on every continent, as well as being the base for many other crystals, including extremely precious ones like amethyst.
Quartz crystals are made of silicone and oxygen, but frequently contain other trace minerals and metals, which can give them a wide variety of colours. The beautiful clear quartz crystal is by far the most famous, but they come in every colour of the rainbow.
Sphalerite The name sphalerite is from the Greek word “sphaleros” which means deceiving or treacherous. It was given this name because of the many different appearances sphalerite can come in and because it can be very challenging to identify.
If Sphalerite contains a large amount of iron impurities, it will have a black or metallic dark grey colour, which is typical of most sulphide minerals. Sphalerite is one of the few minerals that can range from gemmy transparent crystals to dark, metallic-black crystals.
